VASUDHA PHARMA CHEM LIMITED was incorporated, as a public limited company under the Companies Act, 1956 in 1994-95 at Hyderabad in the state of Telangana, India. The company is engaged in the manufacturing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), Pharma Intermediates for catering to the Global market. Initially, the focus was on the development of cost effective processes for several intermediates related to piperidone & piperidine derivatives. By 2003-04, the company gained world class expertise and became the largest manufacturer of piperidone & piperidine derivatives in the world. Subsequently, the company forward integrated from intermediates of piperidone & piperidine derivatives to APIs and later on diversified into large product portfolio of about 40+ APIs spreading across several therapeutic areas. Having recognized the vital role of R&D for launching new products and new processes, a separate dedicated R&D facility with 113 scientists has been set up in the year 2017. With the strength of its portfolio, the gross sales of the company has grown from INR 0.0164 billion (US$ 0.25 million) in FY 1997-98 to INR 10,772 (billion) (US$ 142 million) in FY 2020-2021. The composition of export sales to gross sales is mostly around 40% due to the importance given to the product quality, timely delivery and competitive pricing.

THE COMPANY HAS FIVE MANUFACTURING FACILITIES

• First manufacturing facility, VPCL U-I, for manufacturing APIs & Pharma Intermediates was setup at Plot # - 37/A,38,39 A & B, Phase-I, IDA, Jeedimetla, Hyderabad, Telangana State (present) in the FY 1997-98 and subsequently upgraded to cGMP standards in 2006-07. This unit is KFDA, Mexican MOH (COFEPRIS), PMDA, USFDA and EDQM approved facility.
• Second manufacturing facility, VPCL U-II, for manufacturing APIs & Pharma Intermediates has been set up at Plot # - 79, Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City, Parawada Mandal, Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh and commenced operations in the FY 2007-08. This unit has KFDA, Mexican MOH (COFEPRIS) and USFDA approved facility.
• Third manufacturing facility, VPCL U-III, for manufacturing APIs & Pharma Intermediates has also been set up at Plot # - 23 & 24, Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City, Parawada Mandal, Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh and commenced operations in the FY 2010-11. This unit has USFDA approved facility.
• A Fourth manufacturing facility, VPCL U-IV, for manufacturing API Pellets was established at Plot # - 1, Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City, Parawada mandal, Visakhapatnam district, Andhra Pradesh and commenced operations in the FY 2016-2017. This unit is WHO GMP facility.
• Fifth manufacturing facility, VPCL U-V, for manufacturing APIs and Pharma Intermediates has been set up at Plot # - 24, 24A & 24B, Denotified Area - AP SEZ, Atchutapuram, Rambilli Mandal, Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh and commencement operations in March 2019.

The company had filed DMFs (Drug Master Files) for its various APIs with American, European, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Canadian regulatory authorities. The company continues to enjoy the reputation of its manufactured products (Pharma Intermediates, APIs and API Pellets) being the prime source of starting materials for various MNCs all over the world.
